Geek Squad Summer Academy is coming to Baton Rouge August 2 - 3 and to New Orleans August 25 - 26!
Are you into technology? Do you want to learn more about computers and video games? Are you eager to gain some great leadership opportunities and experiences this summer in some ways you’ve never thought possible? We have the program for you! Girl Scouts Louisiana East was accepted as one of only 23 Geek Squad Summer Academy sites nationwide!
Geek Squad Summer Academy
Best Buy's Geek Squad Summer Academy will teach you, in a fun, interactive learning environment, about the latest technology in sessions such as:
- Digital Music! Girls will learn some of the most popular music creation techniques with music creation software. Work together with other girls to create music through some of the music technology processes used by today's musicians!
- Rebuild a Computer! That's right, girls will tear down and re-build a computer as they learn about the basic foundation for computer programming. Teamwork and critical thinking skills are just two of the skills you'll develop as you use some of the most current technologies!
- Digital Photography! Improve your picture-taking techniques through advance photography methods used by the pros! This interactive group session covers functionality of digital cameras and much more!
Plaquemine
FOR: All girls ages 10-14, not just for Girl Scouts! All girls are welcome and encouraged to attend.
WHEN Saturday, September 8 - Sunday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Iberville Math, Science, & Arts Academy-West, 57955 St. Louis Road, Plaquemine, LA 70764.
FEE: $35 for the two-day program, supplies, sports backpack, T-shirt, 1GIG USB Drive, lunch and snack both days
