Join us in Paper Recycling

Girl Scouts Louisiana East is now recycling, and we need your help!  The council's corporate headquarters now has a large paper collection dumpster which needs to be filled once a month in order to keep it at our location.

This dumpster will accept all paper products such as newspaper, office paper, and magazines; just no phone books or cardboard.

Girl Scout troops - bring your collected paper to be recycled to the council headquarters, 841 S. Clearview Pkwy, Jefferson, any time 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Do not bring your collected material inside. Simply come in and tell the receptionist you are here to drop off recyclable material and a representative will escort you to the dumpster as well as collect troop information for recognition in upcoming publications. Weekend drop-offs will need to empty the paper products into the bin behind the building and then inform the program department during the work week that the donation was made.

Help make the world a better place. Do your part at home; get your school or class involved; have your parents get their work place involved; contact area businesses. Set up containers your troop can collect, make your schedule for collections, and then bring your material to the council headquarters.

Please follow these simple rules for products placed in our recycle bins:

Newspaper, office paper, magazines, and pamphlets only.

Please remove all staples and paper clips.

No cardboard.

No phone books.

No plastics bags or plastic of any sort, whatever containers are used to collect your recyclable paper will have to be emptied into the bin.
