Nuts & Candy

2010 Fall Product Sale set for October 1-24

New this year! Support our military troops overseas with GSLE's "We're Nuts for Our Troops" community service project!

Click here to register online for the Service Unit Fall Product Sales Training, September 18! This training is not for troop leaders.

Is your Girl Scout troop interested in a money earning activity that’s easy, provides start up funds for the troop right away, and offers customers a variety of delicious yet inexpensive items to purchase? If you said yes, then prepare to Design your Future, Construct A Plan, and join in the council’s Fall Product Sale of nuts, candies, magazines, and address booklets. Ashdon Farms/QSP, the licensed Girl Scout vendor, has even prepared a lot of fun activities for Girl Scouts of all ages to enjoy. You'll begin by creating a group "blueprint" (goal setting), and continue with the activities that fit the needs and interests of your girls.

Ashdon Farms/QSP has also provided an Interactive Activities link that is a supplement to the printed Be A Reader (BAR) Activity Booklet. Click here to visit the site.

Girls earn start up money for their troop and earn cool patches and other incentives!

Patches interlock!

The fall product sale differs from the cookie sale in that all orders are pre-paid, and
there are no booth sales. The troop earns $1 for every food item sold, $2 for every address booklet (only one per girl) completed, and 10% of the price of each magazine sold (and an extra 5% for online sales). The family and friends sale runs October 1-24. Girls deliver the orders in mid-November, and since the money is pre-collected, the troop receives their proceeds immediately.

Girls must be registered by September 15 for the new membership year to participate in the sale. The sale is for all age levels but as always, participation in the fall product sale is entirely voluntary.

Participating in a Council-sponsored product sale is a voluntary program for Girl Scouts that teaches responsibility, money management, marketing, and communication skills. The sale teaches girls many valuable skills that will last them a lifetime.
