GSLE Connections

The fall issue of GSLE Connections is in the mail, but click here for a sneak peak! Photos for the Winter Just for Girls and GSLE Connections are being accepted through November 16. We're especially interested in photos from camping trips, community service projects, or whatever you've been doing in your community. Email jpegs as attachments to maddy@gsle.org or drop prints off at either office. Please do not send links to your photo albums - we would rather you select the photos yourself rather than look through 200 in your online album! Please note printed photos may not be returned, so if it's your only original get a copy made first.

Journey Books and Badge Myths

There is a myth going around that GSUSA is getting rid of the badge books and try-its. This myth is FALSE! Girl Scouts of the USA is not getting rid of the books. The Badge Books and Try-Its should be used as enrichments to the Journey books.  In a few years GSUSA is going to reevaluate the badges and come up with new ones that will be real and relevant to modern Girl Scouts. We encourage you to continue to use the badge books and Try-Its by linking them into the particular Journey the girls may be on.

Join us in Paper Recycling

Girl Scouts Louisiana East is recycling, and we need your help! The council's corporate headquarters has a large paper collection dumpster which needs to be filled once a month in order to keep it at our location. Troops, bring your collected paper to be recycled to the council headquarters, 841 S. Clearview Pkwy, Jefferson, any time 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Do not bring your collected material inside, just tell the receptionist you are dropping off recyclable material and a representative will escort you to the dumpster as well as collect troop information for recognition in upcoming publications. Click here for additional information.
