American Red Cross Red Cross Small Craft Safety
Perfect your canoeing skills while learning rescue and teaching skills for water activities. This three-year certification allows you to oversee canoeing activities without the need for a lifeguard.
For: Registered Girl Scout adult volunteers and girls age 15 and older.
Prerequisite: Intermediate canoeing skills. Pre-course reading assignment.
Bring: Swimsuit, water shoes, hat, sunscreen, change of clothes, sheets and sleeping bag, towel, toiletries, mess kit, and Friday night dinner.
Fee: $35
Note: Prior to attending the course, participants will receive a packet in the mail containing an assignment to complete before arrival.
Capacity: Minimum 8/Maximum 15.
