2012 – 2013 GSLE Program Development Meeting
Region 2 - First United Methodist Church, 1255 Canal Blvd., Thibodaux, 70301, Thursday, April 12, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Region 1 - Regional Office – Program Center, Tuesday, April 17, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Region 4 - Headquarters – Conference Room, Tuesday, April 24, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Region 3 - St Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Drive, Mandeville, 70471, Thursday, April 26, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Series Pathway Coordinator (Council Level Volunteer):
The Series Pathway Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of series offerings that provide high-quality activities for girls and are aligned to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) throughout the council jurisdiction. The nature of this position requires the individual to work with and supervise Series Advisor(s) volunteer positions. This volunteer position works in partnership with Kevin Shipp, Program Specialist-Series/Events Pathway.
Series Advisor (Regional Level Volunteer)
The Series Advisor supports the implementation of a community, regional, or council series by completing tasks or presentations assigned in partnership with adults and girls throughout a specific region. The nature of this position requires the individual to work with and supervise Lead Series Advisor (s) volunteer positions.
Lead Series Advisor (for a specific series or special interest group - i.e. Wranglers/Spurs)
The Lead Series Advisor is responsible for the implementation of a series opportunity, supervision of the girls who participate, and coordination of logistics. The nature of this position requires the individual to work directly with girls and other adult volunteer advisors for the group.
Events Pathway Coordinator (Council Level Volunteer)
The Events Pathway Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and oversight of volunteers for event offerings at the community level that provide high-quality experiences for girls that are aligned to the GSLE. The nature of this position requires the individual to work with and supervise volunteer Event Advisor(s). This volunteer position works in partnership with Kevin Shipp, Program Specialist-Series/Events Pathway.
Event Advisor (Regional Level Volunteer)
The Event Advisor assists in the implementation of a community, regional, or council event by completing tasks assigned in partnership with adults and girls. The nature of this position requires the individual to work direct with Service Unit Event Directors OR lead the event working directly with girls.
Travel Pathway Coordinator (Council Level Volunteer)
The Travel Pathway Coordinator is responsible for overseeing a travel committee that ensures volunteers and girls participating in national or council travel opportunities receive the proper preparation and support for their travel experience. He or she does not attend the trips, but provides expertise and logistical support to ensure successful travel. The nature of this position requires the individual to provide indirect service to girls. This volunteer position works in partnership with Marissa Baham, Program Specialist- Travel/Camp Pathway.
Camp Pathway Coordinator (Council Level Volunteer)
The Camp Pathway Coordinator is responsible for establishing, planning, and implementing volunteer-led, outdoor experiences for girls that are aligned to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE), such as day camps, camporees, encampments, or other council or community camps. The nature of this position requires the individual to work with and supervise volunteer Camp Advisor(s). This volunteer position works in partnership with Marissa Baham, Program Specialist- Travel/Camp Pathway.
Camp Advisor (Regional Level Volunteer)
The Camp Advisor is responsible for providing strategic input and advisory about overall camp strategy and utilization of property, as well as implementation of the camp offerings throughout the council. The nature of this position requires the individual to work direct with Service Unit Campout Directors OR lead the Campout working directly with girls.
Girl Scout Take Action and Awards Committee Chair
The Girl Scout Take Action and Awards Committee Chair coordinates the Girl Scout Take Action and Awards Committee, which advises girls in the planning, implementation, and documentation of take-action projects and Girl Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold Award projects. She or he also coordinates the decision-making process for approving and awarding these projects and awards by the committee. This volunteer position works in partnership with Marissa Baham, Program Specialist-Travel/Camp Pathway.
