Celebrate 98 years of Girl Scouting!
Join us for the Girl Scout Fall Luncheon

Girl Scout alumnae are invited to Girl Scouts Louisiana East's Fall Luncheon on Wednesday, November 3 in New Orleans. Click here for more information.

For many of us it has been more than a few years since we donned our official Girl Scout uniform and attended a troop meeting. but the memories live on! We can toast marshmallows for s'mores with the best of 'em! But what we all received from the Girl Scout experience was more than songs, games, camping, and cookies. we have grown into who we are with the support of caring, mentoring adult role models. Today- girls face different challenges. Today- you are that role model for girls. Today- you are an ambassador for Girl Scouting, just by being you. Today- girls are building their futures just as you did, thanks in part to Girl Scouting!

Purchase a piece of history!

Girl Scouts Louisiana East is in the process of establishing a Girl Scouts Alumnae Association in which former Girl Scouts and Girl Scout volunteers can reconnect, make new friends, and participate in community service or specific short-term volunteer opportunities. Alumnae do not need to have participated in Girl Scouts within Louisiana to be considered part of this association.

Girl Scouts of the USA is hoping to have located 100 million former Girl Scouts by the 100th anniversary in 2012. Our local council wants to begin offering alumnae the opportunity to share their memories, connecting with others who "bleed green" and know firsthand how transforming this program is in girls' lives. Special programs and events for 2010 are in the process of being planned.

We are pleased to welcome aboard our New Orleans Area Alumnae Coordinator, Brandi Bordelon. Brandi was a Girl Scout in the 80's in Metairie. She is very enthusiastic about Girl Scouts, and she is ready to start planning events for the Alumnae.

However, she needs your help. If you are interested in joining the Alumnae task force to help reunite former Girl Scouts and Girl Scout leaders or have event ideas, please email Brandi at brandihorn@gmail.com.

Share Your Story

What is your fondest Girl Scout memory? Perhaps it was camping out for the first time or attending a father/daughter dance. We want to hear it! Please take a moment and share your own Girl Scout story. Selected stories are posted on the council website. Email your wonderful story to Cathy Pottschmidt at cpottschmidt@gsle.org.
