Meet the Chair of the Board of Directors

Jacquelyn S. Daniels

Jacquelyn S. Daniels is the Chair of Girl Scout Louisiana East's Board of Directors, having served in that position since April 2008. A resident of Baton Rouge, Jackie is a grown up Mariner Girl Scout and previously served as the president of the Girl Scout Council of Southeast Louisiana from September 1994 to April 1999, and was elected its second vice president in 2005. She has been heavily involved in the council realignment process, serving a member of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC), and as Co-Chair of the CEO search committee and member of the CRC governance and CRC service delivery sub-committees.

A Thanks Badge recipient, over the years Jackie has chaired numerous Girl Scout volunteer and board committees, council task groups, as well as volunteering at the service unit and troop level. She is a founding member of the Council's Every Girl, Everywhere Society and a member of the Juliette Gordon Low Heritage Society.

A native of New Orleans, Jackie received a RN from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as youth minister of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Algiers in 2000 and is a recipient of the Catholic Youth Organization Ray Mock Memorial Award, St. Elizabeth’s Guild Volunteer Activist Award, Archdiocese of New Orleans Order of St Louis, and the Hope Haven Center and Padua Community Services Humanitarian Award.

Jackie is committed to youth...especially girls...and uses her Girl Scout background, especially her knowledge of the field, while serving on the board. Jackie is also a member of the Aurora Plantation Garden Club and enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
