Join as we celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting! Girls, bring your family or troop for a day of fun and exploration as we celebrate Girl Scouting across the years with a living history, and the international sisterhood of Girl Scouting with World Thinking Day activities including a parade of flags!

Games and food items will be available for individual purchase at carnival booths.

Purchase your tickets in either council shop or online! 

Centennial Extravaganza Activities include:

11 a.m. – Doors Open (100 years of Girl Scouting and Main Stage area)

12 p.m. Opening Flag Ceremony/Welcome
Mistress of ceremonies: WAFB Channel 9 News Reporter Cheryl Mercedes

Discover World Thinking Day, WAGGGS, and the international sisterhood of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides 

Get this party started with David Vincent's Martial Arts and an energetic healthy living message and exercise routine

To Get Her There Panel of female community leaders talk about following their dreams, girl empowerment, goal setting, and more! 

LEGO LEAGUE Robotic Presentation

Inspirational sign language ensemble presented by River Road African American Museum and a guest appearance by Madame C. J. Walker

Come join the experiments taking place in The STEM Cell!

Learn what life was like for a girl during World War II

West Baton Rouge Museum presents the life and times of Juliette Gordon Low

Get cooking with the Southern Food and Beverage Museum as they deliver their culinary secrets to you...

...and other exhibits/presentations from Fontainebleau State Park and more!

Community Service

Help make the world a better place by holding an item drive within their community, neighborhood, church, school, etc.. to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network, and bring the collected items to the GSLExtravaganza. This optional community service project benefits Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. Click here for their wish list!

Ticket Information

Date: Saturday, March 17, 2012

Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (carnival remaining open until 9 p.m.)

Where: Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales

Entrance Ticket: $10 per person at the door

   Children under 3 and Adults 70 and older - FREE

   Special pricing for event volunteers/girls - see below

Carnival Ride Pass (sold separately day of the event): $5 for unlimited riding

Entrance Ticket: $5 for troops/girls/adults working as presenters

Carnival Riding Pass: $5 for unlimited riding

Worker Bee Patch: Free to all Girl Scout volunteers
